The Vision Development Team is growing and recruiting for additional full and part time Vision Therapists. Our therapists guide patients in therapeutic activities, prescribed by the doctor, for the treatment of visual dysfunctions. The patients may be suffering from academic, developmental, physical, and/or emotional impairments due to these visual dysfunctions.
Training is provided; however, a familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the broad field of educational therapies is preferred, as is a willingness to learn the art and science of vision therapy. Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients in a positive, upbeat, motivational, and empathic manner is essential.
Our Vision Therapists prepare equipment for treatment activities, instruct, motivate, evaluate and monitor patient performance. Other duties may include cleaning and maintaining therapy instruments and materials, assisting, and motivating patients and families in the accomplishment of home therapy activities, sharing notable progress milestones with the patient or parents and miscellaneous clerical duties.
